ai/notes is built so your notes never leave your device. This page explains exactly what data the extension collects, how it's used, where it's stored, and who it's shared with.
/What we collect
Your notes: never collected. ai/notes does not
collect, transmit, or store any of your notes on external servers.
Everything you write is saved only in your browser's local
extension storage (chrome.storage.local), on your own
device.
Your email address: collected in two places, for one purpose — verifying your one-time purchase. Stripe collects it when you pay, and the extension asks for it when you click "Verify purchase" so it can confirm that a payment exists for that email. This is the only piece of personal information ai/notes collects.
/How your data is used
Your email address is used solely to confirm your purchase and unlock the extension. It is not used for marketing, analytics, profiling, or any other purpose, and we never send you email unless you contact us first.
/Where your data is stored
-
Notes: stored only on your device, in
chrome.storage.local. Uninstalling the extension deletes them. - Purchase email: stored in a secure database hosted by Supabase, alongside a Stripe payment reference and the purchase date. Access is restricted to server-side code — it is not publicly readable.
- Unlock status: after verification, your email and an "unlocked" flag are saved locally on your device so you don't have to re-verify every time.
/Who we share data with
Your data is shared with exactly two service providers, and no one else:
- Stripe — processes your payment. Stripe collects your email and card details directly; we never see or store your card information.
- Supabase — hosts the database and server functions that record and verify purchases.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data with anyone. We do not share it with advertisers, analytics companies, or data brokers. Your notes are never shared with anyone, because they never leave your device.
/What the extension accesses
ai/notes reads the current tab's URL to determine which supported AI site you're on — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, or Meta AI — and inserts your saved notes into that site's chat input field when it's empty. It does not read, log, or transmit the content of your conversations, and it never overwrites text you're already typing.
When you verify a purchase, the extension makes a single request to our license server (hosted on Supabase) containing only the email you entered. No other browsing data is ever transmitted.
/Data retention & deletion
Your purchase email is kept for as long as your license is active — which, for a one-time purchase, means indefinitely, so you can re-verify on a new device at any time. If you'd like your email removed from our records, email us at hello@useainotes.com and we'll delete it. Note that deleting it means the extension can no longer verify your purchase.
/Payments
One-time payments are processed by Stripe. We don't see or store your card details — Stripe handles that directly. You can read Stripe's own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
/Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted on the ai/notes landing page.
